After a long day at work, all I wanted to do was throw on my sweatpants, turn on The Bachelorette and pull a tasty meal out of my frig. But when I opened that door, the only thing I found was a hodgepodge of empty ingredients. So I did what I do best, go with the flow.
After finding some pasta in my pantry, I spruced it up and decided to create a dish where Texan meets Italian.
Meet my concoction: Ruffles pasta with olive oil, garlic salt and cracked pepper....cilantro, bacon, and cumin.

The Girl Who Lives Life
Live life to it's fullest. That's the motto I try to follow most. Living my life as a journalist on a day to day basis is fun (especially the people and situations I tend to encounter), but my world outside of the journalism industry is just as thrilling and self fulfilling that why not share it with everyone else.
As a journalist, I've met a handful of successful people (such as Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Denise Austin, General McCaffrey, Howard Dean, Admiral Thad Allen, and the list goes on), worked with some of the most dedicated correspondents I know, and witnessed history (including the signing of the health care bill). Sometimes at work I have to step back and realize I have the coolest job at work.
Though I work hard, I play hard too. You'll never find me spending my weekend on the couch watching TV. I'm out camping, on a boat, trying new foods, making up new recipes, attending the impossible and coming close to succeeding.
In the words of Andy Dufresne in Shawshank Redemption, "Get busy living, or get busy dying." So welcome to Journalist by Day, Spontaneous by Night and enjoy seeing what I'll try next.
